Robert brings over 35 years of hands-on experience in applied science, advanced engineering, and sustainability innovation. With a foundation in physics and accreditation as a professional engineer, his work has always bridged science and real-world application.

At Callaghan Innovation, Robert led major R&D projects in CO₂ capture and hydrogen energy storage — and supported countless businesses in solving complex technical challenges using embedded electronics, systems thinking, and deep cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Robert is one of New Zealand’s foremost experts in hydrogen energy systems. He believes the key to successful innovation is understanding the real problem, not just the one that first shows up.

With over 30 years of experience at the cutting edge of industrial automation, Patrick has helped reshape how Kiwi industries work, building smarter systems, improving productivity, and enabling innovation at scale.

He has led high-performing R&D teams delivering breakthrough solutions across AgriTech, Manufacturing, Seafood, and Construction. His reputation for technical excellence and strategic execution has earned him national recognition, including the prestigious KiwiNet Commercialisation Award and Royal Academy Medal.

Ross is a practical innovator with a strong track record of helping businesses move from idea to implementation. With deep experience in business model design, product development, and agile facilitation, he supports teams to test assumptions, reduce risk, and accelerate their innovation efforts.

Dr. Delower Bhuiyan is a senior scientist with over 18 years of experience in sustainable materials, polymer chemistry, and applied research. As a Principal Research Scientist at Callaghan Innovation, he has led and contributed to nationally significant projects supporting New Zealand’s decarbonisation and circular economy goals.

Delower has delivered high-impact solutions such as Direct Air CO₂ Capture, advanced emission control technologies, and coloured plastics recycling. Known for his technical depth and collaborative approach, he has worked across public and private sectors to deliver real-world outcomes through strong partnerships, science leadership, and cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Raymond is an accomplished physicist with deep experience in applied research and development, specialising in advanced photonics, sensing systems, and radiation detection technologies.

He has a proven track record developing sophisticated systems for commercial applications, with hands-on work applying machine learning to scientific challenges.

Known for his calm, thoughtful approach, Raymond excels at guiding teams through complex technical projects — from initial planning and coordination to delivering robust proof-of-concept prototypes.
